Vancouver University Worldwide is (1) a consortium of globally-dispersed constituent and affiliate member colleges and programs, and (2) conducts a collateral 'external' aggregate-learning degrees process.

VUW thusly functions in two different but overlapping contexts:

(1) The locations-based programs are at constituent member or affiliate member colleges and institutes across Canada and around the world (scroll down this page). They directly deal with students in their location and normally issue their own certificate or diploma for courses completed with them. These courses then additionally receive credit towards our relevant aggregate-learning ('external') degree, along with other learning accepted for degree credit purpose.

(2) The aggregate-learning degree process is also open to External ( 'off-campus' ) candidates who meet our criteria - such persons often, however, needing to take additional courses at an appropriate near-to-them institution, or on-line, in order to meet our degree completion requirements.

  • Our constituent member colleges/programs are directly governed by the Vancouver University Colleges Society and collateral non-profit corporate entities (Whetham College [BC statutes 1893 c67] and Whistler College Society).   The affiliate member colleges and institutes - wherever located - are equally entitled to membership in the Society and representation on its Board. [All students, faculty, alumni and staff are likewise invited to individual membership in the Society]. We thus differ greatly from universities with 'branch' or 'franchise' programs. Our constituent and affiliate colleges have pursuasive status and participation rights in the governing Vancouver University Colleges Society. We are a global consortium of equals.

  • Constituent and affiliate member colleges/programs, including some candidate affiliates, are presently located in Alberta, Bangladesh, British Columbia, England, Hawaii, Manitoba, Nepal, New Zealand, Ontario, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, and Washington. See e.g.Can-Am locations and Shane/Global (note that we give academic credit to adult second language learning, as well as to language teacher training) - with others presently being considered in various other countries.

  • NIBAIS in Bangladesh,  the Institute of Management and Technology in NepalCOSMIQ in Pakistan,  and CPPD and INNOTECH/INSEND (Singapore head-quartered)  , and others, also variously conduct programs (one or more) in arts and science, business administration, information technology, and languages, in our aggregate-learning degree context - some at undergraduate and others at graduate level. All such programs are collectively monitored so that students, upon passing examinations, receive full Vancouver University degree credit for their course work.
