For a full list and addresses of the programs of the Vancouver University Worldwide consortia, see the Canadian Government HRDC National Guide to College and University Programmes (under "University Colleges" 1996 edition). For a succint current major locations list, click to VUW at the top of our welcome page. When your institution (or even another consortium!) affiliates, the presumption is that it joins both consortia - unless stating otherwise.

Affiliates - or collaborators, or anybody! - may emphasize one consortium context more than the other. We thus ultimately let members, collaborators, alumni, media, the general public, decide which identity they think more significant - our BC and WA "home-base" regional identity, or our functional global identity. The prevailing identity may thus one day be Worldwide University at...(locations, various) - rather than Vancouver University Worldwide at....(locations, various).

[This is not the only instance in which the public at large gets to decide something quite fundamental about our modus operandi. Because people far removed from Vancouver BC (and seeking educational information) often do not know other names of universities in the Vancouver BC area, they enter "Vancouver university" into search engines - and we then appear. As a result of that circumstance, our on-line staff spend a lot of time answering questions which are unrelated to our specific programs, and we instead re-direct the questioners to other institutions in BC, Canada, Washington State, and globally. In other words, a global public has given us an additional (but no revenue) bestowed "mission", which we could either reject or respond to positively. We respond positively. And, in another dimension: we not only help individuals to learn and grow - the texts, on-line courses, etc which we require or recommend also make a contribution to the community or place of employment where that person lives and works. Like all good educators, we ultimately enhance environments as well as individuals within them.]
